INTEGRATED APPROACH TO DIAGNOSIS OF METABOLIC SYNDROME IN CHILDREN WITH OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY

Abstract

The children with overweight and obesity were investigated in order to determine the markers of the metabolic syndrome. We found the high prevalence of each component of the metabolic syndrome - abdominal obesity, dyslipidemia, disturbance of glucose metabolism, hypertension. It is the reason of the significant frequency of registration of metabolic syndrome among children 10-17 years old (33.80 %). Analysis of the components of metabolic syndrome established the presence of correlations between them, and a genetic predisposition to them. We found, that progression of the metabolic syndrome is depended of the age of the child.
