RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HORMONAL AND METABOLIC FACTORS IN PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS ASSOCIATED WITH OBESITY AND NON-ALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE
Abstract
Introduction. Liver dysfunction aggravates insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and obesity. Aim of investigation: to study the features of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in type 2 DM and obesity. Materials and methods: 52 patients with type 2 DM, obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease were observed. The indexes of insulin resistance, lipid metabolism, hepatic functional state were determined. Results: Relationship between non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and arterial hypertension, hypertriglyceridemia, increase of cholesterol, decline of cholesterol of high-density lipoproteins and high index of НОМА-IR was confirmed. Conclusions: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease closely associates with hormonal and metabolic risk factors and markers of cardiovascular diseases in patients with type 2 DM.
