Abstract
Recent advances in medicine brought focus into Gender Medicine, which is a new area specializing in biological and physiological differences that exist between males (M) and females (F). It focuses on the impact of sex and gender on normal human physiology and clinical features of the disease as well as its role in different types of treatment. We observed 618 subjects with liver cirrhosis. The subjects were treated from 2009 to 2011 at the Department of Gastroenterology at Regional Hospital No.2, Grodno, Belarus. All subjects underwent laboratory and clinical examination according to the clinical guidelines of the Republic of Belarus for the diagnosis and management of patients with end-stage liver disease.
