Abstract
The purpose of the study was to determine the prevalence of parasites in children with diseases of the digestive system, “bad” habits and risk factors for infection, and their importance in various invasions. The study involved 75 patients with chronic digestive diseases. The age of the children was from 2 to 18 years. Feces analysis was done to identify helminth eggs and lamblia cysts. Scraping for enterobiasis was performed. The level of IgG to Toxocara canis, Ascaris, Strongyloides stercoralis, tapeworm, Opisthorchis felineus was determined by ELISA. The prevalence of parasitosis was 73.3%. The most important factors in the development of parasitoses were the presence of dogs at home in toxocarosis and nail biting in ascariasis.
